My very best friend got married to the love of her life this past month! The amount of pure love, support, joy and excitement was so palpable as everyone came together that weekend. The first day was an intimate courthouse ceremony, followed by a photoshoot in the dreamiest garden of Surreybrooke, and afterwards a simple and yummy lunch at one of Kaye and Kris’ favorite pizza spots.

The second day was the big party where all of the family and friends gathered to celebrate all together. The blue and yellow theme was inspired by the city of Seville, where Kris proposed to Kaye last September. The menu included a plethora of delicious Filipino and Puerto Rican dishes, many of them home-cooked by talented chefs from both sides of the family. The wedding cake and cupcakes (baked by me!) were lemon with lemon cream cheese frosting and lemon curd, topped with fresh blueberries, fresh thyme and a light dusting of blueberry powder. Many unexpected things happened during that day, including an intense downpour which caused the ceremony to be held inside. In spite of that, everyone showed such support and patience to help the events go smoothly. And everything came together pretty perfectly when it mattered most. :)

The love that Kaye and Kris share is truly beautiful and rare. Their relationship is the kind that shows care, grace, softness and understanding to one another in a tough world. They are proof that, when you truly value and love yourself, life will orchestrate the timeline for you to meet a like-minded soul who will walk beside you on this crazy yet worthwhile journey of life. Someone who will add value to your life, be there to endure challenges together, lift you up and share in your joy. Someone who makes you LAUGH! Someone who is excited to create something meaningful with you; a life together, and new life! (Get ready, Baby KK is on the way!)
